it's going to be a long post, so grab a cookie or something. :D

i seriously regret what i do sometimes. like posting that letter to melly. OMG! what was i thinking??!

tomorrow have geog and english paper 2, i'm gonna have a hard time for geog. but before i go back to mug for geog, i shall tell you about friday. oh happy day.

after the exams, the ny family in rg went out together to eat! wooh, happy day. i was like, it's the weekends! i didn't care about geog. apparently kfc was full, and then shiyin wanted to eat kfc realll badly, so i settled down with her and dee2. the rest abandoned us for shihlin chicken. sad.

and so we ate. and i was like loving shiyin to bits and this denise was lamenting on how shiyin is not nice and such! hahaha. so funn. then marmee came to "pick" me up. she wanted to mart [ooh! sarah's word for mrt] to bishan instead of going back to school.

so i followed. and then we went to bishan library. SAKEENAH came! woots. and she was like saying how strangers were staring and smiling at her wherever she went.

i mean look! she's a postergirl for new-moon's essence of chicken commercial. who can not notice her? hahaa

apparently an RI guy was following her and she finally "dished" him off when she entered the library. we were doing french homework. and i was too bored and went to look for literary stuff. and found "the science of phillip pullman"! that was so cool. and sakeenah, a new fan of pullman, was thrilled. :D

ohh! apparently, i read from livvy's blog, that the sec4s were studygrouping in some library and had a sauce anthology on globalisation. nat started it. :D

oh wells, so french was okay. we were almost sleeping. and then he handed out the petit test according to grades. and we [rg gals] were soooo scared cos like he did it so stupidly slow and we were almost having a heart attack.

GUESS WHAT??? we clinched the top 5 spots. that's the COOLEST!

i've got 19/20. elated! :D marmee got real high too. 17.5/20. charmain, diane and sakeenah got about 15 and above! :D

nono, that's not the end for friday. apparently i didn't switch on my phone. and apparently my dad wanted to pick me up from moelc. i'm SO glad i didn't on my phone. cos i did a good deed. it was kindduf sad though.

i TELL you! this world is so full of coincidences. it's so flat that you could meet people from EVERYWHERE.

soo, i waited for bus 59. it came early so i was glad and i took the front seat. i was nearly sleeping when this elderly [not that old] couple came in. so i shifted in and gave the man a seat. the lady was sitting behind, where another rg girl was sitting.

oh please, giving my place to the old man was not the good deed.

soo yesh. we were SILENT. i mean, who talks to stranger unless you want to ask them something? you don't go like: "hi! nice to meet you! i'm cheryl, and i'm from rg. who are you? you stay in toapayoh right? oh that's cool! i stay in bedok, along the way! where are you going?"

so yesh.

then when we were entering bedok road there, the lady turned to the rg girl sitting beside her and asked where block 760A was. and she was just behind me and i could hear. and they were talking and were contemplating whether or not to alight. IT WASN'T BLOCK 760A YET!!

so i told the old man beside me that it's further up. i knew it since i stay around there. and he was telling me it was like a multi-purpose block or something. and he said they held wakes there. "you know what wakes mean?" he asked me, he spoke good english.

"yeah, it's further up. i'll tell you where to alight."
"ok."
silence.
"should we alight here?"
"no, further up."
"it's my first time taking a bus to bedok."
and then he added,
"the last time i drove here. it was the other exit."
and the i said,
"oh, the one passing the school?"
"yes."
silence.
"ummm, you alight here."
and then we went down.

so we crossed the road and then i told him block 760A was just straight up. near a few shops at the roundabout. it's behind, i told him.

oh okay, he said.

and then we walked further, my house was further up anyway.

umm, i offered, do you want me to walk you all there?
he waited for a while and then accepted my offer.

"where do you stay anyway?"
"oh, here."
and pointed to my condominium which we just passed by.
"oh! then it's okay, you want to go back?"
"no it's okay."
and then he told his wife something in hokkien, which i managed to infer later.
"you should be tired after a long day. what time do you go to school?"
"6.20...around there."
silence

the other rg girl walked to the condominium opposite. aquarius by the bay. she probably took the same school bus as me..COINCIDENCE!

and apparently, my mum's friend said, she has the same name as me: cheryl. DOUBLE COINCIDENCE!

"it holds wakes doesn't it?"
"oh, yeah, it does"
i remembered. it has held so many wakes. when i look down from my house, i could see wake processions there. it's just directly below.
"it's holding a wake there right now, isn't it?"
silence

"yes, my niece is lying in the coffin..."
he muttered something i couldn't understand.
"i'm sorry"
i really was, i didn't know.
"my brother lived near here, so he held the wake in that block."
"i'm sorry...."
silence

we were near the block already. i gestured there and told them it was there. they said thank you so many times. i was just nodding my head.

i went back home and prayed for them. yeah, i did. i didn't know what to say.

it's just so coincidental. off-ing your phone sometimes is the right thing to do.
